"Rose Colored," Lumiere award honoree for "Best Live Action VR"
This is a spatial audio mix version, and is best experienced with a 6DoF HMD, such as the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive.
The short can also be enjoyed with a VR adapter for smartphones, a Samsung Gear VR, and Google Cardboard.
This video can also be viewed via the Facebook app in "Magic Window" mode. As you let it play, you move your phone or tablet around your physical space to "look around" into the space of the movie.
You can also watch on a modern browser, using your mouse to drag the video onscreen to look where you want, but it will not feel as immersive. Enjoy!
"Rose Colored" is a 360 SciFi short film that was produced by a VR/AR company in Silicon Valley that I helped to create and co-founded.
This short premiered at VRLA 2017, and was well received by critics from VR Scout, Road To VR, Upload VR, Voices of VR podcast, and presented by Sotheby's "Art of VR" in NYC.
AMD was a supporting partner during production and post.
This was a bootstrapped pitch for an anthology series in the vein of "Black Mirror." It was originally much darker, but I am satisfied with the storytelling.
Regrettably, I wasn't on set during production, hence the stitch lines. I served as the short's VFX Producer and Creative Technologist. After completion, I remained as a consultant for the company, before exiting and moving on to Facebook.
Your “likes” and “shares” help propel future projects, and I thank you in advance if you choose to do so.
I hope you enjoy, "Rose Colored."
